EVELYN POTTIE was educated in Edinburgh and Aberdeen and gained a DA from Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen. After some experience in the teaching profession, she decided to work full time as an artist printmaker. She worked part time as a studio technician for art.tm in Inverness for more than12 years undertaking a variety of commissioned work as well as tutoring and supporting the exhibitions in the art tm gallery, editioning for other artists and latterly assisting in the running of the studio. She has seen the print studio in Inverness go through many changes and now makes good use of recently upgraded screen processing facilities while completing most of the printing at home. For her recent body of work she has returned to screen printed landscapes but she has worked in monoprint and photo etch techniques and makes use of new forms of digital image manipulation. She enjoys working with other artists on projects and has been involved in community and school projects including fabric banners, editions on paper and large canvas mono prints. In 2006 she took part in "Imagining the Centre" producing two sets of larger than life portrait photographs with a small community group, for a one day celebration in Inverness City Centre.
Her work has been recognised by a number of awards and by selection for national and international exhibitions including the Iwate Arts Festival, Japan and the Printmakers Craft touring exhibition.
