Madeleine Hand graduated from Glasgow School of Art, where she specialised in illustration. She is known for her distinctive figure paintings inspired by artists of the 1940s. She sees beauty in the everyday moments of life, a country walk, a new baby, a jug of flowers… A skilled watercolourist, her sensitive paintings are a joy.
