Ian Mastin — Intimations of Life 2018

IAN MASTIN was in his thirties before he began to paint seriously. With discipline and dedication, he taught himself fundamental techniques as he studied the still life of 17C Dutch and Flemish Masters. His work has a timeless quality that is not bound by tradition or convention.

“My passion is to bring to life the beauty in the simplicity of everyday objects, especially the utilitarian hand-crafted skills of anonymous artisans of the past…also the organic nature and changing colours of seasonal fruit.”

Ian exhibits regularly in the UK and Australia and his paintings are found in collections throughout the world.
