Garry Harper — The First Steps of a Story 2017

GARRY HARPER is a graduate of Glasgow School of Art. Fascination with the moving image led him to work as a designer for television for 20 years before taking the leap to paint full-time, with much success.

His paintings show his love of the human figure and also of the Scottish landscape. He aims to evoke memories and capture glimpses of the past that he hopes sparks the viewers imagination and gives them the first steps of a story. Never one to be tied down to one style, he enjoys embracing new techniques and experimenting with new materials.
