Drummond Mayo studied at Glasgow School of Art and thereafter taught in schools in the west of Scotland and Stirlingshire. He painted throughout his teaching career and exhibited in major exhibitions. Following retirement, he has devoted himself to painting full-time. He works in a mix of watercolour, gouache and oil on paper and board. He has developed a singular style and his paintings display an acute colour sense and remarkable compositional subtlety. He has gained a discerning following and we are delighted to have the opportunity regularly to exhibit his work at Tolquhon.
