HELEN MOORE graduated from Bradford Art College with a BA Hons in Fine Art in 2003. She moved from her home in West Yorkshire to Caithness in the North Highlands in 2007 where she worked as gallery exhibition organiser from 2008 until beginning to work full time as an artist in 2018. Her work focuses on details of everyday scenes in the landscape surrounding her.
My work documents everyday scenes captured in the landscape around me. I am drawn to the corroding materials, the plastic wrapped around fences, the evidence of everyday life, of industry both present and past, of passing visitors blown in for the season.
My work focuses on the ordinary, the everyday, the effects of changing industry on a rural landscape. With a focus on textures and details, I hope to capture moments of beauty and stillness in these snapshots of life whilst creating a narrative of day to day life and industry on the north coast.
