MADELEINE HAND is a graduate of Glasgow School of Art, where she specialised in illustration. She now lives in Perthshire and divides her time between painting and commissions, family and community.

Her paintings are unmistakeable, she beautifully depicts scenes of domestic and rural life in a distinctive palette of colours, celebrating the ordinary and everyday. They feature people, birds, animals and countryside.

Madeleine loves the paintings of the 1940s and has been inspired by the work of Eric Ravilious and Evelyn Dunbar. Her lively drawing and pattern-making underpin all her joyful compositions.
