PETER FOYLE is known for painting the sparkling light of Venice and the sun-dappled cafes of Provence but he has spent time exploring the north east coast of Scotland for his solo exhibition at Tolquhon.
He always aims to convey an impression of atmosphere and light rather than a detailed description of his subjects and he brings a fresh eye to familiar places, capturing the fleeting light and colour of Scottish harbours, Mediterranean cafes and Venice. These recent oils evoke the light and atmosphere of special places at home and abroad. “Memories are made of good times spent in these places.”
