Danny and Joan Ross opened the award-winning gallery in rural Aberdeenshire in 1987. They celebrate and promote Scottish art, showing the best emerging artists as well as established modern masters. Several hundred artists are represented by the gallery. All are carefully selected by Danny and Joan, who are always on hand and happy to discuss the work of any artist.
Great News! We are opening on Friday 17 July. For now we shall open on Fridays and Saturdays only, from 11 am to 4 pm, but you are welcome to come outwith those hours if you get in touch. We shall restrict numbers meantime to 3 households at a time and we shall ask each household to remain in separate rooms and circulate in turn. We have hand sanitiser at the door and we shall be cleaning regularly. We want you to feel safe and to enjoy a relaxed visit. It will be great to see you.
There is a wealth of art on our website. If you are stuck at home in self isolation, we hope you can enjoy browsing online. And if you wish to buy a piece of art to enjoy in your own home, we are offering free UK delivery while the coronavirus outbreak is ongoing.
We wish to support the artists we exhibit to the best of our ability. In the coming months, many artists are going to struggle, their art is their livelihood, it is not a hobby. So, if you were thinking of buying a painting or a sculpture or ceramics…now is the time.
Do get in touch if you would like additional information or images of any pieces.
Tolquhon Gallery runs regular Art Classes at Tolquhon Studio Workshop (Art on the Green) in Udny Green, a picturesque conservation village, 12 miles north of Aberdeen. The former Fleeman’s Shop on the village green has been transformed into an attractive, well equipped studio providing an ideal space for painting. When weather allows, classes also paint out of doors.
