A number of Weekend Workshops will take place
during July and August. Please contact

- Just Drawing for the Weekend
Tutor: Mark Moynihan
Saturday 11th July
and Sunday 12th July
9.30 am to 3.30 pm each day

This weekend will focus
exclusively on drawing and will cater for the individual
needs of every student. You will be given the opportunity to
draw large or small scale and will be encouraged to explore
a range of mediums covering a variety of subject matter.
Different types of drawing will be discussed with the aim of
completing a project tailored specifically towards the
interests of each student.

Watercolour Landscapes

Saturday 18th and
Sunday 19th July
9.30 am to 3.30 pm each day
Suitable
for beginners and improvers, this workshop will introduce
the medium and materials, exploring the subject of landscape
with reference to composition and interpretation in
watercolour. Demonstrations of the methods of working in
pure watercolour will be given. Each student will be helped
to develop their own individual style. This is a wonderful
opportunity to receive tuition from one of Scotland’s
leading artists.

Figure Painting in Oils

Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd August
9.30 am to 3.30 pm each day

A class led by one of Scotland's
finest figurative painters. In this two day workshop you
will have the rare chance to work from an experienced life
model. The expert tutor will provide step by step guidance
towards creating a figurative painting in oils. This is a
fantastic opportunity for beginners and keen artists alike.

- Pattern and
Colour in the Garden

Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th August
9.30 am to 3.30 pm each day
For improvers only, the workshop will aim to achieve
informal, lively results, focusing on pattern and colour in
the garden. Depending on weather, some of the weekend will be
spent in a local walled garden. Starting with simple pencil
observational studies of individual plants and moving on to
loose charcoal drawings of groups of plants, studies will be
developed in the studio into finished mixed media pieces.

Painting for the Petrified - Acrylics
Tutor: Danny
Ross
Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th August
9.30 am to 3.30 pm each day

Acrylics are ideal for beginners and this
is a workshop which assumes no previous knowledge or experience.
Working through gentle stages, the tutor will lead you step by
step through the basics of drawing and painting. Go home with
your own finished paintings at the end of two enjoyable days of
creative discovery.

MEDIA

PLACE
Tolquhon Studio Workshop, Udny Green.
LUNCH
There will be a break of an hour for lunch
each day. Coffee and tea will be provided but please make your
own arrangements for lunch. The studio in Udny Green will be open if you wish to bring a packed lunch and eat it in the
studio.
