Keep it Simple:
Successful Landscape Watercolours
Tutor: D.E.Johnston
Saturday 20th July
and Sunday 21st August
10.00 am to 3.30 pm each day

This workshop will begin with a demonstration
showing how to select a subject, achieve a satisfactory
composition and create a simple tonal watercolour. Then, weather
permitting, the main focus of the course will be on outdoor
sketching. The grounds of Udny Castle provide an excellent venue
and the rest of the weekend will be spent on location putting
what has been learned into practice. Most suitable for those who
have some experience in the medium though complete beginners are
also welcome. Should the weather make it impossible to work ‘on
the spot’, images of local landscapes will enable participants
to develop paintings in the studio.
