Regular
Art Classes, organised by Tolquhon Gallery, are held at the Tolquhon
Studio in Udny Green, a picturesque conservation village,
12 miles north of Aberdeen. The former Fleeman’s Shop
on the village green has been transformed into an attractive, well
equipped studio.
Beginning in September 2011, we introduced a Digital Photography Workshop, Pixel to Print, led by Ken Ingram. This proved such a success that Ken is now leading two classes, one on Wednesday mornings and one on Friday mornings. The classes are suitable for anyone who wishes to develop the creative side of photography and expand their knowledge in a friendly and relaxed environment. The classes range over all aspects of digital photography from camera settings to image editing to printing. They include a minimum of three outdoor photo shoots (weather permitting) and access to a laptop with photo editing software is essential for the sessions based at the ‘Art on the Green’ Studio. The new series of Wednesday classes will run for 10 weeks from 24 April to 26 June (10.00 am to 12.30 pm) and the Friday classes will run for 10 weeks from 26 April to 28 June (10.00 am to 12.30 pm). Classes cost £148 for a ten-week block. More than ten years ago Ken returned to Collieston to live in the land of his forefathers. He has an in-depth knowledge of photography in the digital age and is well versed in the mysteries of Photoshop and other associated software. Ken's photographs show the power of nature in all its moods, mainly in the dramatic landscape of the north east of Scotland. The rolling hills of Tuscany also feature. His work can be viewed at www.ingramimages.co.uk. You can view photographs by members of the classes on the pixel2print Flickr pages. They are well worth a look. Click on Flickr.
