Intimate Encounters 

7 June to 7 July 2009

We are pleased to present a special exhibition of small paintings and works on paper.  Artists have been invited to exhibit work measuring less than 12” x 12”, excluding frames.  Some artists, including Ron Eardley and Cynthia Wall, naturally work on a small scale, enjoying the intimacy of a small canvas. Others, including Catriona Millar and Jacqueline Orr, are better known for their large scale pieces so we are delighted to have the opportunity to exhibit their smaller works.  Smaller pieces can have as much depth and resonance as larger pieces and it is interesting to see how artists work within the size constraints, often compressing and intensifying focus.

Sizes quoted are painting sizes.  All works are framed so framed size is larger.
