GILLIAN GOODHEIR was born and brought up in Glasgow. She studied Drawing and Painting at Glasgow School of Art, gaining a Diploma in 1967 and a Post Diploma (Highly Commended) in 1968. She taught art in Glasgow for a number of years before moving to a croft in mid Argyll in 1975. She has lived and worked there ever since, finding endless subject matter in the landscapes and seascapes all around. These reflect the ever-changing weather and light in the west of Scotland. She also paints beautiful Still Life groups which combine flowers, textiles and decorative objects. Gillian works mainly in gouache in a fluid spontaneous style which captures light and colour.
