PATRICIA SADLER was born in Selkirk in 1946 and has lived in Berwickshire for the last twenty four years. With her roots in the Borders, she finds that she is particularly inspired by the pattern, rhythms and colours of its ever changing landscape and she spends many hours walking in the countryside absorbing its different lighting and moods. The landscape of France, particularly Provence, has been another source of inspiration with its extraordinary light and colour helping to refresh her palette. Her paintings are done in her studio from an accumulation of memories, her inspiration coming from nature but not as a transcription. Her paintings are very much an intuitive and emotional response. She also enjoys painting flowers, which she finds a fascinating contrast in subject matter. She works in watercolours and acrylics.
