GILLIAN GOODHEIR studied at Glasgow School of Art, gaining a Diploma in Drawing and Painting in 1967 and a Post Diploma (Highly Commended) in 1968. Following graduation, she taught art in Glasgow for six years. Then, in 1975, she and her husband moved to mid-Argyll and she has lived and worked there ever since, painting full time since the early 1980s.  She is known for both landscape and still life. She paints in gouache, which she handles with exceptional skill in a fluid spontaneous style - her paintings are brimming with light and energy. She demonstrates subtle tonal values whether in the green greys of the machair or the contrasts of backlit still life.

Her work is held in collections throughout the U.K. (including the Permanent Collection of the Palace of Westminster) as well as in the U.S.A., Canada, Hong-Kong, Holland, France and New Zealand. This is Gillian’s eighth solo show at Tolquhon and each exhibition is eagerly awaited.
