Frank Donnan

FRANK DONNAN was born in Stirlingshire and studied at Glasgow School of Art. He taught in Stirling until his retiral in 1985 when he moved to Orkney. He lived there for fifteen years, painting many aspects of the islands. He now lives in Aberdeenshire and finds enjoyment and subject matter in the coastline and the small fishing villages of the North East as well as the undulating landscapes of the area. He works in mixed media using combinations of colour and texture to heighten atmosphere in his wonderfully evocative paintings.
