EVELYN POTTIE studied at Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen.  After some time as a teacher, she became a full time artist printmaker.  She worked part time for art.tm in Inverness for more than twelve years undertaking a variety of commissioned work as well as tutoring and supporting exhibitions, editioning for other artists and latterly assisting in the running of the studio.  She is now a celebrated printmaker and her work has been recognised by a number of awards and by selection for national and international exhibitions including the Iwate Arts Festival, Japan and the Printmakers Craft touring exhibition.

I am very much at home in the areas of Scotland which are known as Grampian, Highland and Perthshire but I am constantly aware of how much the  landscape changes with the light and seasons.  I find new inspiration almost every day.  The work in this exhibition shows images which celebrate the colour and shapes of hills, fields and trees in many different lights.  Four acrylic paintings are included in the exhibition along with the screenprints which are all printed in a lengthy process which involves overprinting many layers of colour in an edition of prints.
