| MICHAEL PECKITT is an artist making
dynamic, wearable art which is available in the UK and
internationally. Each piece is unique.
His jewellery is made from acrylic and
anodised aluminium. The findings are handmade from silver
or surgical stainless steel. Colour is high quality acrylic
paint with gold and silver leaf.
My fashion jewellery is designed in
acrylic and anodised aluminium with fittings handcrafted from
sterling silver. High quality acrylic paint, gold and silver
leaf are used in my vibrant designer jewellery and very wearable
jewellery accessories.
Trained in fine art painting, I have worked colour into these
unique jewellery accessories. My fashion jewellery is intended
to be worn as dynamic fine art. Acrylic is painted in layers and
finished with two coats of varnish. Aluminium is anodised to
accept dyes. It is then painted and permanently sealed into very
fashionable bangles, bracelets and pendants.
With some acrylic jewellery accessories, I have worked the top
surface to give depth to the jewellery designs. One may look
into the lower painted surface and appreciate handcrafted
colours in depth. From the sides refracted light is seen in all
acrylic designer jewellery.
With my paintings I have a range of ideas to present them in
ways other than by simply framing them, so too with my designer
jewellery. I have found a wide variety of shapes for wearing my
art and I have adopted the laser cutter to help me fashion my
stylish jewellery accessories.
In
fact all my fashion accessories have my individual handcrafted
attention to achieve a truly unique jewellery style. No two are
the same.
Interested in fine art rather than the applied arts, as a
painter I work with my sense and sensibilities avoiding pattern.
My design is in the shape I give my handcrafted jewellery. I
like to think about my paintings becoming fashion jewellery
giving pleasure and satisfaction to my many clients both here
and abroad.
