Stewart Lammie

STEWART LAMMIE lives and works in Wigtownshire where the changing light, colour and moods of the landscape around him, particularly the coastline where changes are pronounced, inspire him. Stewart paints in oil, which allows him to re-work images over a long period of time; it also gives depth, subtlety of colour and textural advantages to his work.  He tends to work with the cooler shades of the spectrum, often blending a fusion of blue washes mixed with earthy colours.  This wonderfully expresses Scottish light.
