MICHAEL ROSS was born in Edinburgh in 1967. During much of his childhood, owing to his father's vocation as an Episcopalian priest, his family moved around, living in a number of different towns and cities across Scotland. Latterly, they settled in Aberdeen and Michael has recently returned to live in the North East. A largely self-taught artist, Michael draws on his imagination and finds much of his inspiration in the humour and quirkiness he sees in everyday life. He has a distinctive vision and has developed a unique style; the viewer may elaborate stories through the figures and situations in his paintings. He has successfully exhibited his work in galleries throughout the UK and is a regular exhibitor at Tolquhon.
