KEN MacLENNAN was born in Ross-shire and studied Drawing and Painting at Edinburgh College of Art. After training as an Art and Design teacher, he worked in Edinburgh, Dunfermline and Plockton and is now based in Fochabers, Morayshire. Brought up in a crofting community
in Wester Ross, Ken has always been interested in the theme of
landscape. Until recently, this has been a response to his
immediate surroundings but has now developed to include an analysis of
landscapes of continental Europe - Paris, southern Spain and
Majorca. The search for structure and order in composition has
always been at the core of his work but this been added to by an
emphasis on light and colour. The landscapes abroad have helped to
ignite the Scottish landscapes. |
