FIONA S TAYLOR was born in Aberdeen, but spent her early childhood in Singapore and latterly Cyprus, before returning to Aberdeen to finish her education, when she displayed an emerging talent for drawing and painting. She later attended part-time courses at Gray’s School of Art. Fiona has a particular love of floral subjects which stems mainly from her sojourn in foreign climes and this has been the motivation behind her work, in which she interprets flowers in her own individual, impressionistic style, with particular emphasis on the dramatic use of colour. She previously used watercolours and pastel but now works mainly in acrylic. Her subjects also embrace landscapes and seascapes; she has a particular affinity with the West coast of Scotland, which she visits at every opportunity, to capture its awe inspiring natural beauty. Fiona has carried out several commissions and has exhibited widely. To see further images, click Search or to check on availability of work click Contact Us. |
