CATRIONA CAMPBELL studied at Glasgow School of Art from 1957 – 1961. She is the daughter of artist, Ian Campbell, who first inspired her. Whilst attending Glasgow School of Art, she was taught by David Donaldson and Mary Armour among others. She was awarded The Somerville Shanks Prize for Portraiture in 1959. She continues to have an interest in figure painting and is a wonderful observer of human situations. She also has a love and knowledge of horses, which often inform her subject matter. She works mainly in oils, which she handles with great facility. Catriona exhibits widely and has been a regular exhibitor at the Royal Scottish Academy, The Royal Glasgow Institute, The Society of Scottish Artists and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. She has been a member of Visual Arts, Scotland since 1986 (previously called The Society of Scottish Artists and Artist Craftsmen).
Her work is in public and private collections in the UK, Spain, America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong.
