Lin
Pattullo was
born in Glasgow in 1949 and brought up in Prestwick on the Ayrshire
Coast. She always loved drawing and sketching and this enthusiasm
continued through an early career in nursing. Once her family had grown
up she began to concentrate on painting and now works from a studio in
Perthshire.
She held her first Solo exhibition at the Kelly Gallery, Glasgow in 1993
and has shown her work at many other solo, joint and mixed exhibitions
since then. She is an elected member of the
Glasgow Society of Women Artists (GSWA) and the Paisley Art Institute (PAI).
She has also
exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy, the Royal Glasgow Institute of
the Fine Arts and the Scottish Artists and Artist Craftsmen. She
holds the Lauder Award at the GSWA, the Neville Award at the PAI and the
J Trever & Webster Award at the RGI. Her work is in private and
corporate collections including the Dunfermline Building Society,
MacRoberts - Solicitors and HRH Prince Charles.
Whenever possible Lin works out of doors and finds inspiration in many
areas of Scotland. However, the brilliant colours of the Mediterranean
have become a favourite subject. Bright colours and the interaction of
light and shade are important ingredients in her work. She works
mainly in oils.
